Mandisa and Mary Mary Receive GRAMMY Nominations

grammy-nominations

Congratulations are in order. Mandisa’s CD Freedom is nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. Erika and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary are up for Best Gospel Song (a songwriters’ award) for “God in Me” from their CD The Sound. Win or lose, we look forward to seeing Mandisa and Mary Mary at our 2010 events—but we really hope they win!

I will confess that I have not heard Mandisa’s CD album, “Freedom”, but I remember her from the enormously popular television show, “The American Idol”, and also heard her sing on a television special for “Feed the Children”, and listened to a radio interview she did with the Billy Graham Evangeslistic Association. I think she is a beautiful inspiration to many women.

Mary Mary blesses me with their gospel songs that lift us the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Recently, one of my church members commented on my appearance after being released from a frequent hospital stay. She said to me, “You do not look like you’ve been sick at all…it must be the God in you”. This reminded me of the Campbell sisters’ great song, “God in me”. I don’t happen to have their CD either, but I’ve heard the song, think its wonderful, and hope they win a grammmy award, along with Mandisa!
