Mary’s Blog: When I Was A Teenager…

When I was a teenager, my sister made it possible for me to go to an event. Although I’d grown up in church, THAT SINGLE EVENT turned my life completely around. I’ve never been the same. I didn’t even know what I needed; I just knew something was missing. My big sister didn’t know either but God used her in an amazing way. She found out about that event for teenagers and she made it possible for me to go. This week I’ve been at a messaging meeting for Women of Faith’s event for teen girls, The Revolve Tour. It’s been amazing, encouraging, and enlightening. Did you know . . .

Help Us Help Them Here’s how: Bring a group of girls from your church (or family) to The Revolve Tour. You may be wondering, “Why should I do this rather than the church’s youth leader?” We’ve found that in most churches, youth leaders are men. They’re great guys, but may not have something as unique as The Revolve Tour on their minds. They don’t necessarily see the benefit of an event just for girls. And, to be fair, they receive a lot of information about events and opportunities for their groups. Revolve may get lost in other priorities. As a teen I was with hundreds of kids my age who were lovin’ life―and someone shared God’s love with me. After that one event, almost everyone in my family came to Christ. I’ve spent my entire life with the absolute assurance of God’s love for me―all because of an event more than 40 years ago. The Revolve Tour can make such a difference in girls’ lives . . . but only if we can get them to the event. Thank you so much for your help!

| P.S. Studies show that girls are more likely to be positively influenced when they’re in a group—so the more girls you can get to Revolve the more influence they’ll have. Bring your teen’s group of friends to Revolve and watch what God will do! |

GIRLS . . . BE AMAZED! BE BLESSED! YES! LIVING CHANGING!
Just wanted to say that my daughter went to the Revolve tour two years ago and got a glimmer of why I enjoy the WOF every year. She’s out of school now, so . . .
Highly recommend this to any parent of teen daughters. Worth the ticket price
Thank you, Mary,
I have an 11 year old girl and am waiting to take her next year to the one in Columbus, OH. I have also been thinking about arranging a group – either from her friends @ school or @ church or both… How do I get more info about group tickets and what do I need to do to make this happen? Ideally, I would like to make this as “no brainer” as possible for the parents – hotels, meals, etc. Any advice??
I agree w/ all that you said and look forward to bring as many girls as possible next Fall – 2010.
In Christ,
Michelle
Being a leader of a womens ministry and also an all girls group i know the importance and the impact of these mtgs..i encourage everyone to try to get all the girls you know to go! be blessed!
I am very glad that this is happening for girls to experience but I do think there should be something like this for teenage boys…I have a 15 year old that I would love to see attend something like this (for boys of cours).
Is there anything in the works? I think of this every year I attend WOF.
thanks
Gail Mercer
Will you all be being the Revolve Tour to Omaha in the future?
Dear Mary and all my Women of Faith friends,
I have an 11 year old daughter and I am excited that next year she will be able to attend the Revolve Tour and hear so many amazing things God has to share with her. As I prepare her for her teen years I need to have “the talk” with her about…well you know. I am wondering if you can recommend anything for me to reference before I talk with her. I’m just not sure how to go about it.
Thank you for any wisdom you can give me.
Cheryl
We have 100 tickets for the Baltimore Revolve! I’m working on bringing 100 girls in our area (Front Royal, VA). I’m excited!
