Mary Graham’s Great Adventure

Tomorrow I’m going on a great adventure with my friend Patty. In the seventies/eighties, we traveled almost all over the world―this is our first trip since. Our most adventurous (as in scary) trips were to Northern Ireland, China and (many times) the former Soviet Union.

Next week is the 20th anniversary: the beginning of the death of Communism in the USSR. It was AMAZING NEWS then & now. Tomorrow we’re going to (the former) Leningrad where we were when the wall came down, such a HUGE surprise. And very historic.

I learned so much from Patty. Especially to ‘Never be afraid. Never, ever be afraid.” It’s time I spent a few more days with her. If we almost get arrested for sharing our faith, it will be AWESOME! I leave so much behind. Hard for me to go, but only for 6 days. Sometimes ‘faith barriers’ must be broken. It’s how we learn and grow. From numerous trips Patty’s voice still rings in my head, “Be brave, Mary. Be very brave.” I’m being brave now. = )

What’s In Your Jewelry Box?

“Thank you for this creative solution! I had been praying for a creative idea to bring in more money before attending Women of Faith. My husband has a strong desire to go to Mexico and build homes for the poorest of the poor. He wanted to join a team of builders in March but we needed $500. This will help reach that goal! Thank you!” — Debbie H.

To Toss or Not to Toss (That Is the Question)

With big holiday dinners on the horizon, there’s something we need to discuss: leftovers. Some people refuse to eat any leftovers. Others probably resuscitate Sunday’s roast beef long after it should have been passed along to Fido. But if you’re wondering whether your meal or any ingredients in it are salvageable or not, check out StillTasty.com, the ultimate shelf-life guide.

Type the name of the food into the Keep It or Toss It search engine and you’ll find out how long it can be kept in the pantry, refrigerator, or freezer. The site also provides tips for the best ways to store each type of food. It’s a great resource for being safe, not sorry. (When the verdict is a “Toss,” you can still keep it out of a landfill by composting!)

A Study Bible Just for Women

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” –Genesis 1:27

Although we’re all created in His image, it’s no secret that God created men and women differently. He formed a woman’s heart to connect with Him in special ways. That’s why The Woman’s Study Bible has been a valuable and trusted resource for women for over ten years. It speaks to a woman’s heart, highlights women throughout Scripture, and captures the unique ways Christ cared for us.

Now with a beautiful new design, even more effective study notes, and new articles on Bible study by Anne Graham Lotz, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Stormie Omartian, and more! The Woman’s Study Bible is a priceless treasure, poignantly delivering the Word of God to a woman’s heart.
